When people think of elegant wedding photos, they often imagine cover-worthy images with a very editorial style—almost like *Vogue*, so to speak.
And people tend to think that, to take photos like these, you need specific skills in posing for the camera: knowing how to move, having the right intent, striking the right pose, and being able to achieve those elegant poses we’re used to seeing in photos of models.
This can cause a great deal of anxiety and worry for couples who want this kind of photography. They, too, would like beautiful, polished, and elegant photos, but at the same time, they realize they feel self-conscious in front of the camera and aren’t able to pose like the models featured in many of the photos they see in magazines or on social media.
The risk, therefore, is either giving up on this type of photography or, if you try it anyway, not fully recognizing yourself in the final result.
We often meet couples who want elegant, polished, and well-composed wedding photos, but who also tell us they don’t feel comfortable in front of the camera. They’re nervous, don’t know how to act, or simply want elegant photos without feeling forced into stiff, unnatural poses.
And it is precisely this need that has shaped the way we work.
Over time, we have developed a method that we have called ” Natural Elegance.”
What does it involve?
First and foremost, respect for the couple: respect for their needs, their requests, and above all, their emotional state on their wedding day.
It involves guiding the bride and groom in a light and natural way, using simple gestures and movements and, when necessary, describing to them the final position we want them to achieve.
This approach allows the couple to gradually feel more relaxed and at ease in front of the camera. The final photograph—even when it has an elegant, editorial style—is merely the culmination of a short journey.
The result we’re looking for is therefore an elegant image captured almost without the couple realizing they’ve struck a pose.
It’s actually very simple.
The pose we want to achieve is only the final step in the process. It’s a pose I can describe to you, but we won’t try to achieve it by constantly adjusting your position while you stand still in front of the camera.
Instead, we’ll get there one small step at a time.
Each step involves a gentle movement, performed as naturally as possible. It could be a simple walk, a small dance step, a hand gesture, a caress, or simply a glance.
These are all poses that don’t require any special wedding posing techniques, because they’re gestures we make naturally in our daily lives as a couple.
Everything should take place in a calm and relaxed atmosphere—but above all, one that shows respect for you.
You don’t need to be used to having your picture taken, and, above all, you don’t need to know how to pose.
If I sense a bit of awkwardness at first, I can start with something extremely simple, like going for a walk together. I observe what happens spontaneously between you: the distance you keep, the way you look at each other, how you hold hands, and how you interact.
From there, I can guide you step by step, without asking you to strike a specific pose right away.
The goal isn’t to turn you into models, but to create the conditions that allow you to be yourselves while I guide you toward a more polished, harmonious, and elegant look.
This aspect becomes particularly important when photographing an elegant wedding at a villa. A sophisticated venue deserves photographs that showcase its architecture, spaces, and atmosphere, but that doesn’t mean the bride and groom have to pretend to be something they’re not.
This is the guiding principle behind Eleganza Naturale.
I don’t think a couple has to choose between candid photos and elegant photos. The two can go hand in hand.
Spontaneity can arise from a movement, a glance, or an authentic interaction; the photographer’s task is to observe what is happening and, when necessary, gently guide the couple toward a more elegant composition.
This way, we can create polished photographs with an editorial flair without losing what truly makes a wedding photo important: being able to see yourselves in it.
Ultimately, what I want to give my couples isn’t just a collection of beautiful photographs.
I want to create images in which they can see themselves as they truly are, but at the same time discover their most elegant selves.
Because to have elegant and natural-looking wedding photos, you don’t have to be a model, and you don’t have to know how to pose.
Instead, you need to be able to trust the person behind the camera and let them guide you gently, one small gesture at a time.
